Let's face it, it's great to read magazine articles, blogs and diet menus from random people we don't know, but when it's your gym buddies you see at the gym everyday, I think it has the potential to be more meaningful and effective. The key to all this... you MUST be HONEST with yourself. Let's be real here. None of us are perfect, we're all a work in progress and we should be able to REAL and laugh at ourselves and others, supportively, that is. So, go ahead. Tell us, your gym partners, how your nutrition went today, what went wrong, and what you did to improve your health today.
Now off to roast that chicken that's been defrosting for a few days in the refrigerator. Share your healthy recipes, too!

First of all, I LOVE THIS IDEA! I hope it will work out great! I am going to comment... I hope everybody is able to read the comment?? Maybe that is how we can chat about things.
ReplyDeleteSo, today I woke up and had oatmeal with some agave nectar and cinnamon sprinkled on top. I was bad for lunch and had left over pizza from last night... not the good kind of pizza (Amy's) but one of those from the refrigerated section that my husband and I dressed up with all kinds of goodies. I knew I was going to have an extremely active afternoon which is why I allowed the pizza.
At 3:30 I taught 1 hour of Yoga followed by 45 minutes of Spin and another 45 minutes of Spin and FINALLY 45 more minutes of Yoga! Needless to say, when I got home I was H-U-N-G-R-Y. Now, I did pack snacks and drank an Organic Valley Vanilla Milk and ate 2 bananas from the 3:30-7:30 time frame.
Dinner was an experiment... tried to mimic the gyros from that delicious place on the flight line, only make them clean. The Tazekki(sp?) sauce turned out wonderful as did the pitas and veggies, but I have to say I wasn't a fan of the chicken. It was marinated in balsamic and I'm clearly not a fan. As soon as I get that recipe straightened out to my liking, I'll share! My husband on the other hand, loved it! So needless to say I made myself a turkey sandwich including a slice of cheese and just a smidgen of Miracle Whip which I so desperately need to get away from! That's where I'm at for the day... I'm sure I'll have a snack in an hour or so. I am just so hungry after so much exercise. I am looking forward to this site helping to keep me HONEST! :)

I tried to post an opening comment yesterday but it didn't seem to take...? OK, so I am thrilled that you are doing this! Even though I will not see you at the gym any time soon, I can imagine that I will! :) I woke up this morning, "happily", if you know what I mean ;) and then proceeded to ride my new Gold's Gym stationary bike for 30 minutes. It is the most quiet gym machine I have ever had! I can watch and hear the TV easily!(It has magnetic resistance) I only did 30 minutes today but 40 yesterday...working on an hour. It's mostly timing to fit it in before getting ready for work. I packed a 230 calorie miso soup for lunch and a vitawater...I'm trying, girl!
ReplyDeleteTHANK YOU for giving me someone to be accountable to! You know I would be amazingly fit if I could attend your classes!!!
